One in custody as attempted murder investigation continues

Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 30, 2018 – Police have confirmed a person is in custody assisting them in an attempted murder investigation following a shooting incident at George Street, Newtown on Wednesday, November 28.
Police responding to a report just after 11 am, said 23-year-old Antoine Galloway “Goat head” of Mad House Alley, Newtown was walking along George Street when a lone gunman approached him and opened fired.
“Galloway was shot several times about the body. He was rushed to the hospital by the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) where he underwent emergency surgery. Galloway is currently listed as being in a stable condition,” a police statement said Thursday.
The Police disclosed that members of the Crime Scene Unit visited and processed the scene and items of evidential value were taken into Police custody.
“The Police are making an appeal to anyone who might have any information in relation to this incident to call the Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) at 467-1887, 467-1888, or 662-3468 or their nearest Police Station. Investigations into the matter are ongoing,” said the police statement.
