Tourism Minister, the Honourable Lindsay Grant, in declaring Tourism Month open and commemorating Caribbean Tourism Day on November 2, 2015, explained the significance of the theme saying, “… we shall be reaching the milestone of welcoming our one millionth cruise passenger during the 2015-2016 cruise season.  Certainly, this is cause for celebration!”

Speaking to the dynamic nature of the tourism industry, Minister Grant revealed that the St. Kitts Tourism Authority has collaborated with the Ministry of Tourism to plan a number of activities.

“We shall also discuss key programmes and marketing strategies that could be employed to promote the yachting sector in the Federation, as well as identify specific actions needed to stimulate the future growth and development of the yachting industry,” he said, adding that his ministry has “taken a step further recruiting a yachting liaison officer to address the issues facing the sector.”
