Former Olympian and Owner/ Coach of the Over the Top Track club, Kurvin Wallace, has deemed the camp hosted by his club, as A HUGE SUCCESS.
Wallace was speaking at the closing ceremony of the one week training session, which was hosted by his club from Monday 10th to Friday 14th December.
The camp was not exclusive to members of his club alone, but was extended to children all across the island.
The camp was hosted as a means of teaching the children the proper use of the Mondo track and included such critical issues as starts; baton passing; running in lanes; javelin throwing skills and much more.
Also addressing the persons present, was Principal Education Officer, Miss Zahnela Claxton.
She lauded the efforts of Mr. Wallace and his team and commended the parents for allowing their children to participate in the camp.
Sports Minister on Nevis, Hon. Eric Evelyn, was also on hand and he also congratulated Mr. Wallace and his team members for a job well done and made it clear that such programs are fully endorsed by himself and his Ministry and stated that he was there to offer any support that he can give.
He also pointed out that he hoped it would become an annual event, which Mr. Wallace later assured him that it will be.
He then handed out the certificates of participation all of the children who were present, in collaboration with Miss Claxton.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Wallace.
