Piling begins for first phase of Koi Resort & Residences, 80 units to be completed for opening in December 2015

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JANUARY 21ST 2014 (CUOPM) – Civil works have begun for the construction of the 298-unit US$200 million Koi Resort & Residences at St. Kitts’ Half Moon Bay.

Project Manager, Mr. Naeem John, told the Communications Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister (CUOPM), that a St. Lucia-based company, Complete Marine Services (CSM) started driving plies for the foundation of the first phase last week.

“Piling will last for six to eight weeks,” said Mr. John, who added that the investors were in the process of selecting the company that will construct the super structure.

He disclosed that the first phase of the project will see the construction and completion of 80 units.

“Also to be completed for a December 2015 opening will be the Beach Bar, Spa, Conference Room and gym,” said Mr. John.

“We’ve waited for quite a while to see this piece of property develop and what we now have here is a developer, who has been showing intense interest in getting this project going,” said Dr. Douglas.

Prime Minister Douglas was accompanied on the site visit by the company’s engineers, sales and marketing and legal representatives, along with the investors and developers.

Prime Minister Douglas expressed thanks to Mr. Nick Haque, the main investor in the multi-million project for the tremendous confidence that he has displayed.

Koi owns several restaurants in Thailand, Dubai and the United States and the Resort & Residences in St. Kitts will be the first worldwide.
