PM Douglas invited to swearing-in of new Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party Cabinet

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JUNE 18TH 2014 (CUOPM) – The Federation’s Prime Minister, the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas is down to deliver an address at this afternoon’s presentation of the new Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party Cabinet to the people of that Nation in St. John’s this afternoon.

Prime Minister Douglas, political leader of the governing St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party, has also been invited by Antigua and Barbuda’s newly-elected Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne to attend the Swearing-In Ceremony of the Cabinet of Ministers at Government House, Antigua.

Prime Minister of Dominica, the Hon. Roosevelt Skerritt and the Prime Minister of Grenada, the Rt. Hon. Dr. Keith Mitchell have also been invited and have accepted the invitation.

Following the Government House ceremony, the Cabinet of Ministers will go to the Antigua Recreation Ground for a ‘Public Ceremony’ where they will be presented before what is expected to be thousands of Antiguans and Barbudans waiting anxiously to see their new Cabinet of Ministers of the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.

Prime Ministers Douglas, Skerrit and Mitchell are down to deliver brief remarks ahead of the star of the moment, Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister, the Honourable Gaston Browne.

Prime Minister Douglas is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister the Hon. Dr. Earl Asim Martin, Minister of Health, the Hon. Marcella Liburd, Cabinet Secretary, Mr. Joseph Edmeade and Dr. Terrance Drew.

Dr. Drew represented the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party at the launching of the candidates of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party for last week’s general elections.
