PM HARRIS URGES YOUNG PEOPLE TO REJECT A LIFE OF VIOLENCE AT SOUNDS OF PEACE ANTI- CRIME CONCERT‏

Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 22, 2016 (SKNIS): The Government of National Unity on Friday evening (February 19) hosted a massive Sounds of Peace- Stop the Violence Anti-Crime Concert at the Circus, Basseterre, St. Kitts.

The massive crowd was thrilled by a packed line up which included folklore presentations, King Astro, Evolution, The Bacchanalist Band featuring Rucas HE, James Galloway,

K-Jah, Shanna, Mod Stoney, Dejour, Mr. Bagnall, Nicha B, Infamus, Natural Mystic and the Small Axe Band.

Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Honourable. Timothy Harris, spoke to the thousands gathered for the event. After commending the organizers for a job well done, he said, “we are proud of the young people, who are committed to a life of peace and a life of prosperity.”

Prime Minister Harris added that his message was “that your government will stand with the young people of St. Kitts who want to get on with their lives, who are committed to end violence—violence in their homes, violence in their communities and violence in the country.”

Prime Minister Harris promised to do all that he can to ensure the continued development of the youth in the Federation saying, “we shall work together and we will mobilize a number of departments of the government over the next few months to come up with an all-embracing policy that supports the development, empowerment and the success of young people.”
