Police confirm bus driver escaped injury after heavy gun fire

Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 14, 2019 – Police have confirmed they are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in Sandy Point in which the son of a local businessman came under heavy gunfire.
Police said the incident occurred on Wednesday, January 9. The man, a bus driver was not injured but bullets struck the vehicle.
“Preliminary investigations have revealed that a man got into his motor omnibus at about 5:45 a.m. when he heard several loud bangs. He drove home and when he exited the vehicle, he observed what appeared to be bullet holes in the bus,” a police statement said Sunday.
Members of the Crime Scene Unit and items of evidential value were taken into Police custody. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
