Police confirm young man injured in shooting on Saturday

Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 6, 2019 – Police confirmed Sunday they are investigating a shooting incident in New Town on Saturday, January 5, that left a young man injured.
“Investigations so far have revealed that 24-year-old Kevin Phillip of Neverson Street was walking with other persons along Neverson Street when three  unknown assailants fired shots at them. They ran, but Phillip was struck by a bullet in his foot.
He was transported to the JNF Hospital in a private vehicle where he was treated for his injury and discharged,” the police statement said.
Members from the Crime Scene Unit visited and processed the scene. Items of evidential value were taken into Police custody.
The Police are making an appeal to anyone who might have any information in relation to this incident to call the Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) at 467-1887, 467-1888, or 662-3468 or their nearest Police Station. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
