Basseterre, St. Kitts — July 31, 2025
The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) has launched an investigation into an attempted murder following the shooting of an officer in Pond’s Pasture, St. Kitts, on the evening of July 30th, 2025.
The incident occurred between 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM, near Ritchen’s Food Business. Responding swiftly to reports of gunfire, officers from the Violent Crime Unit (VCU) arrived at the scene and conducted preliminary investigations.
It was determined that 24-year-old Talbert Warner, a Police Constable and resident of Verchilds Village, sustained a single gunshot wound to the back of his left shoulder. Reports indicate that Officer Warner was seated under a tent among other patrons, with his back turned to the road, when multiple shots were fired. He was struck once.
Fellow officers immediately transported Officer Warner to the Joseph N. France General Hospital, where he received medical attention. He remains in stable condition at the hospital’s Surgical Ward. No other injuries were reported.
The Crime Scene Unit processed both the scene of the shooting and the hospital, collecting several items of evidential value to assist in the ongoing investigation.
The RSCNPF urges anyone with information that may aid in resolving this or any other case to contact the Violent Crime Unit at 465-2241 or 662-3468, or report to the nearest police station.
