Police Investigate Two Separate Shooting Incidents on St. Kitts

Two separate shooting incidents that resulted in the deaths of two males and injured one have been reported on St. Kitts.

The first incident occurred at the Basseterre Bus and Ferry Terminal between 11:30 PM on April 6th and midnight on April 7th, 2024. Upon arrival, police officers found Alex Harris, a 33-year-old resident of Challengers Village, St. Kitts, sitting motionless in a chair.

Initial investigations suggest that Mr Harris was shot by a single-armed assailant and he was declared deceased at the scene.

In the second incident, which took place at a bar located on Main Street in Parson’s Village, between 1:30 AM and 2:30 AM on April 7th, 2024, police officers found Rashiel James, a 37-year-old resident of Middle Island, St. Kitts, lying motionless on the ground.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a single masked and armed assailant entered the establishment and opened fire. Mr James and another individual, Leshawn Hazel, a 30-year-old resident of Main Street, Dieppe Bay, St. Kitts, sustained injuries during the attack.

Mr Hazel was struck in one of his legs and was transported to the Mary Charles Hospital in Molineaux and then to the Joseph France General Hospital in Basseterre, where he was subsequently warded.

Unfortunately, Mr James succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
