The Violent Crime Unit (VCU) is investigating a daylight shooting incident which occurred Thursday, December 13, 2013 in Cayon.
Injured is 24 year old Akil Anthony Cunningham of Cayon. He stated that he was attacked by two (2) armed assailants. The scene was processed by the Crime Scene Unit (CSU) and evidentiary items were recovered.
Commissioner Walwyn is asking the Cayon Community to partner with the police in helping to reduce gun crimes in their community. “Please report where these guns are hidden before more of our children or innocent bystanders are hurt.” Our sons are shooting each other; we need to intervene as a community, and help bring an end to this inter community violence.”
