Police Investigating Cayon Shooting

Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 2, 2016 (RSCNPF): The Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is currently investigating a shooting incident in the Cayon area. The incident occurred about 3.25am on Saturday (January 2).

Investigations have revealed, a 25 year old male who was a passenger in a vehicle with two other persons and was shot by an unknown assailant(s) in the vicinity of the SDA Church on the island’s main road in Cayon. The victim is currently being treated for his injuries.

“We urge anyone who may have seen this incident or any activity in the area around 3am (Saturday) morning to provide the information to the Police. Working together, hand in hand, we can rid our communities of the senseless violence. It will take a partnership of Police and Community to make a difference. Our Forensics Unit has canvassed the scene and have collected evidence, but your eye witness assistance coupled with what we do will be difference in solving these crimes,” stressed Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ian Queeley.

“We urge anyone with information that can assist the police in this crime, or any other crime to call any Police Station in the federation or Crime Stoppers, our confidential hotline, at 1-800-8477 to share information,” stressed ACP Queeley.
