POLICE INVESTIGATING SANDY POINT SHOOTING, SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 18, 2015 (RSCNPF): The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is currently investigating a shooting incident in the Sandy Point area.  The incident occurred about 7:20 pm on Thursday (December 17).  A suspect is in custody.

Initial investigations have revealed, a 29 year old male was shot by an unknown assailant dressed in black clothing while he was entering his yard in ‘the Alley’ area. A number of shots were fired at the victim with one striking him in the arm.  The victim was treated at the Pogson Hospital and later transferred to the J. N. France General Hospital for further treatment.

A suspect was arrested on Thursday night in relation to the incident.  The investigation in ongoing.

“As we investigate this incident, we urge others who may have seen or have heard about this incident to call the Police.  Together we can rid our communities of the senseless violence.  Our Forensics Unit has canvassed the scene but your assistance coupled with what we do will be difference in solving these crimes,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ian Queeley.

“We urge anyone with information that can assist the police in this crime, or any other crime to call any Police Station in the federation or Crime Stoppers, our confidential hotline, at 1-800-8477 to share information,” stressed ACP Queeley.
