Police Officer Suspended After Being Charged For Larceny

Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 27, 2016 (RSCNPF): A Police Constable has been arrested and charged for the offence of Larceny stemming from an incident that occurred in early February, 2016 in Newcastle Nevis.

Investigations have revealed, that a fisherman reported that a 25 horsepower Yamaha engine and a gill net had been stolen from storage shed used by him in the Sand Crab Hole area. The investigations further revealed that Constable Clayton Magloire of the Gingerland Police Station was the person responsible.

He was arrested, charged and later released on bail granted.

He is suspended from duties pending the outcome of the incident.

Commenting on the incident, Commissioner Queeley said, “we will not condone wrong doing and everyone is responsible for their actions and will be held accountable”. At the recently held Commissioner’s Lecture, he made himself very clear when he said that corruption and other illegal actions will not be tolerated under his watch and urged all to be prudent in their undertakings.
