The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force in keeping with its initiative, once again has collaborated with The St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force and Her Majesty’s Customs And Excise Department Enforcement Division, which yielded the discovery of fire arms and ammunition, and four (4) persons being held accountable. This operation was intelligence and surveillance driven, also, with the assistance of Crime Stoppers which led to the execution of search warrants on the premises of the arrested persons.
On Saturday 26 October 2013, a Joint Security Forces Operation yielded the discovery of three (3) fire arms, one (1) BSA Red Dot Scope, one (1) three in one oil, and one hundred and three (103) rounds of ammunition; the fire arms are one (1) CZ-52 Pistol, one (1) M16 Assault rifle, and one (1) DPMS Assault rifle.
The Red Dot Scope is used to enhance vision in dark areas and is used with rifles and assault rifles, and also hand guns once they are designed to fit scopes. The CZ-52 Pistol has a maximum effective range of 50 – 70 metres, whereas the rifles have a maximum effective range of 460 metres.
Commissioner, Dr. CG Walwyn therefore takes this opportunity to thank the persons who were instrumental in this investigation which lead to the removal of these fire arms from the streets of the Federation. Commissioner, Dr. CG Walwyn is very concerned with the discovery, and takes this opportunity to inform the general public that these persons are not to be taken lightly, and encourages all to be vigilant and report criminal matters to the police, and said,”It is only through the vigilance of law abiding persons can we have a safer Federation”.
Four persons were arrested in connection with the Firearm seizures. These are:
Richie Henry of Molyneaux Village was formally arrested and charged for three (3) counts of Possession of Firearm, two (2) counts of Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis With Intent to Supply, which were committed on 26th October 2013 at Molyneaux Village.
Nichole Henry of Molyneaux Village was formally arrested and charged for three (3) counts of Possession of Firearm, two (2) Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis With Intent To Supply, which were committed on 26th October 2013 at Molyneaux Village.
Delvin Benjamin of Molyneaux was formally arrested and charged for three (3) counts of Possession of Firearm, two (2) counts of Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply, which were committed on 26th October 2013 at Molyneaux Village.
Shantel Charles of Molyneaux was formally arrested and charged for three (3) counts of Possession of Firearm, two (2) counts of Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply, which were committed on 26th October 2013 at Molyneaux Village.
