The Police are reminding the public that it is an offence under the Small Charges Act to appear in public in disguise, wearing a mask, or using any other face covering without a lawful excuse.
Recently, people have been seen walking around in ski masks.
This practice creates unnecessary fear and may aid criminal activity. Anyone found doing so is liable to arrest and prosecution.
We urge everyone, especially parents and guardians, to discourage this behaviour. Let us all work together to keep our communities safe.
