The Rank and file of the Royal Police Force of Antigua & Barbuda is mourning the loss of one of its own. Dead is Corporal of Police Ognel Browne of Langfords, who succumbed to injuries he sustained in a traffic collision on the on Friars Hill Road. The incident occurred around 3:00 am on Saturday 3rd March, 2018 in the vicinity of Mount Pleasant Development.
Allegations are that while he was driving his Burgundy Hyundai Tucson Motor Jeep, registration # A 36567 from south to north on that portion of Friars Hill Road under construction. He apparently lost control of his vehicle and collided into a tree on the eastern side of the road.
Fire Fighters from the St John’s Fire Station responded to the scene and used the Jaws of Life to remove his body from the wreckage. His body was pronounced dead around 4:25.a.m by Dr. Delrose Christian the district doctor.
The Commissioner of Police, on behalf of the Rank and File of the Police Force, has since expressed his condolences to the family of Corporal Ognel Browne.
