Police release some details of three recent murders

Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 15, 2019 – The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force said Friday that an investigation has been launched into the murder of three young men on St. Kitts.
“On Wednesday, February 13, sometime after 7 p.m. Vere Amory, also known as “Money” or “Stiff Jacket,” of Ponds Pasture (Basseterre, was shot by a lone gunman in Sandy Point while playing dominoes and he died at the scene. On Thursday, February 14, at about 2 a.m. Joel Phillip, also known as “Bouyaka” of St. Johnson Village, (Basseterre) was shot in his home by unknown gunmen. Then sometime after 1 p.m. also on Thursday, Gavin Rogers was shot in his home in Old Road by a lone gunman. Both were pronounced dead at the scene,” the police statement said.
Members of the Crime Scene Unit visited and processed the scenes and collected items of evidential value. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
“An appeal is being made to anyone who might have any information regarding this incident to contact the Violent Crime Unit by dialing 467-1887 or 467-1888, 662-3468 or by calling the crime hotline at 707,” the police said.
Murder #1 – 22-year-old Jelani Liburd died on January 22, 2019. He was shot and injured on Craddock Road, Nevis, on January 1, 2019.
Murder # 2 – 33-year-old Musa “Ziggy” Warner murdered in Green Tree, Old Road, St. Kitts on February 8, 2019 .
Murder #3 – 22-year-old Shakeem Stevens murdered in Green Tree, Old Road, St. Kitts on February 8, 2019.
Murder # 4 – 28-year-old Eric “Jun Jun” Thompson murdered outside his home at Pond’s Pasture, Basseterre, St. Kitts on Monday, February 11, 2019.
Murder #5 – Vere Amory killed in The Alley, Sandy Point, St. Kitts, on February 13, 2019.
Murder #6 – Joel “Booyaka” Phillip, killed in his St. Johnston Village home, Basseterre, St. Kitts on February 14, 2019.
Murder #7 – Gavin Rogers killed in his home at Wingfield Road, Old Road, St. Kitts on February 14, 2019
