Police Units Showcase Professionalism with Drill at Independence Events

Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 17, 2016 (RSCNPF): As St. Kitts and Nevis celebrates another year of Independence, officers of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force have been busy polishing the silver, their shoes and their routine for participation in a number of events.

Two such events that showcase the professionalism of our officers through drill are the ceremony honouring our National Heroes and the Independence Day Parade.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Terrance James, a former instructor at the Police Training School said, “our participation in these events firstly is our salute to the Nation.” He added, the events also gives the public another view of the Police Officer. Drill is a fundamental and important part of our organization. Drill showcases the discipline that is required for our performance of duty on daily basis”

ACP James added, “this is when we can really put on a show, outstanding looking uniforms, glittering silver, shine shoes, control of the weapon and flawless execution of the parade commander’s orders,….. these are the things that seize the minds of our youngsters, and in some cases stays with them and if nurtured, can lead to a career in the Police Service.

“Parades make feel young again, I love them,” said, Assistant Commissioner James.
