Post Cabinet Briefing for July 17, 2019

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 22, 2019 (SKNIS): The formal meeting of the Cabinet took place on Wednesday, July 17, 2019. The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris. Here are the salient matters that were discussed, and the decisions taken that are designed to advance the growth and development of the country:
Cabinet has been supportive of the alternative lifestyle initiative and to that extent has authorized the release of funds to facilitate the start of businesses by youth who are interested in self-empowerment.
Concessions were granted to over eight (8) small businesses to assist them in start up enterprises and in some cases to extend their present operations.
In an effort to encourage tax compliance, the Cabinet has agreed to extend an amnesty for payment of Property Tax.
