Primary Schools Cricket Tournament Continues with Three Matches on Monday, 29 June

The Runako Morton/TDC Primary Schools Cricket Tournament continued on Monday, 29 June, with three matches producing competitive cricket and several impressive individual performances.

The standout feature of the day was yet another half-century from Charlestown Primary’s Zakeem Bailey, who continued his fine form with a commanding unbeaten innings.

St. Thomas’ Primary vs VOJN

St. Thomas’ Primary were dismissed for 65, with Amor Rawlins top-scoring with 6 runs. Extras contributed 41 runs to the total. Bentley Steward was the pick of the bowlers for VOJN, taking 3 wickets for 14 runs.

In reply, VOJN reached 66 for 2, with Bentley Steward contributing 14 runs. VOJN won by 8 wickets.

Charlestown Primary vs Elizabeth Primary

Charlestown Primary posted 133 for 2, powered by an unbeaten 74 from Zakeem Bailey. Extras added 35 runs to the total.

Elizabeth Primary responded with 79 for 8, with Tnadre Williams top-scoring with 10 runs. Deandre Moore led the Charlestown bowling attack with 2 wickets for 13 runs.

Charlestown Primary won by 54 runs.

Joycelyn Liburd Primary vs Maude Cross Preparatory

Joycelyn Liburd Primary scored 96 for 2, with Jahmarli Kelly unbeaten on 39 and Tydre Clarke contributing 32.

Maude Cross Preparatory were bowled out for 63, with Isles top-scoring with 10 runs. Extras accounted for 45 runs in the innings. Jahmarli Kelly also impressed with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 10 runs.

Joycelyn Liburd Primary won by 33 runs.
