Primary Schools Receive Gate Proceeds from National Football Tournament

1st Place – St. Thomas’ Primary (Champions)

The Ministry of Education and Sports has distributed financial returns to primary schools that participated in the recently concluded National Bank Primary Schools Football Tournament. The presentations were made during a press briefing on Thursday, 13th November.

Education Officer Nichola Fraser reported that gate receipts totalled EC $13,500, all of which is being returned to the participating schools.

Disbursements were as follows:

5th–10th Place
Each school received EC $1,080:

Maude Cross Preparatory

St. James’ Primary

Elizabeth Pemberton Primary

Violet O. J. Nicholls Primary

Montessori Academy

Nevis Academy

4th Place – Ivor Walters Primary

Gate receipts: $1,350

Ministry contribution: $400

Total: $1,750

3rd Place – Charlestown Primary

Gate receipts: $1,485

Ministry contribution: $400

Total: $1,885

2nd Place – Joycelyn Liburd Primary

Gate receipts: $1,755

Ministry contribution: $600

Total: $2,355

1st Place – St. Thomas’ Primary (Champions)

Gate receipts: $2,430

Ministry contribution: $1,000

Total: $3,430

Minister Troy Liburd and Permanent Secretary Zahnela Claxton presented the cheques, reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to supporting youth development and school sports across Nevis.
