Prime Minister Briefs Governor-General on Matters of State

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – Prime Minister, the Honourable Dr Terrance M. Drew, visited Government House on Friday morning to brief Governor-General Her Excellency Dame Marcella Liburd on matters of state.

According to a statement from Government House, the Prime Minister provided updates on several key areas, including the state of the economy, health, energy, water, capital projects, agriculture, tourism, national security, the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) programme, small business development, the legislative agenda, and enhanced employee benefits.

The statement further noted that, having recently assumed the **Chairmanship of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Prime Minister Drew also shared insights into the challenges facing CARICOM member states within the current geopolitical environment, as well as the measures being taken to address them.

In accordance with Section 57 of the Constitution of St. Kitts and Nevis, the Prime Minister is required to keep the Governor-General informed of the general conduct of the Government and to provide information, upon her request, on any matter for which the Government is responsible.
