Prospect-Nevis-The club was only formed in the month of August 2016 but it is already making a significant impact in the community.
President of the Prospect Community Club, Miss Rohbena Wilkinson, in a brief ceremony on Thursday 6th October, stated that the club of which she is a part, is all about giving back to the community.
Her club made two separate presentations to the teachers of two schools in the area.
The first stop was at the Ivor Walters Primary School, where Headmistress, Mrs. Janice Richards welcomed the gift packages and thanked the club for thinking so dearly of the teachers of the school and she went on further to wish them every success in their endeavours.
Miss Wilkinson for her part, stated that in commemoration of world teachers’ day which was commemorated on the previous day, the club members felt that they should show appreciation to the teachers of the two schools in the Prospect area, as a token of appreciation, for the care they are taking of the children within the community.
Mr. Orin Smith presented Miss Whittaker with two cases of apple cider and another member of the club, Ms. Inga Beaupiere, presented Mrs. Whittaker with two kits of ice cream.
The club’s contingent then moved to the nearby Cicely Browne Integrated School (CBIS) where they made a similar presentation to Headmistress of the institution, Mrs. Violet Clarke and her entire staff.
Mrs. Clarke in her enthusiastic response noted that all of her teachers were smiling in appreciation. ‘We think it a privilege to look after your students and we are very happy that you took time out to share these gifts with us,’ she said.
The executive for the newly formed Prospect Community Club, is as follows:
Rohbena Wilkinson-President; Orin Smith-Vice-President; Gale Greenaway is the Secretary –Treasurer and Inga Beaupiere is the Asst. Secretary-Treasurer.
