The staff of the Cecele Browne Integrated School were surprised their PTA members in appreciation of Teacher’s month. The President, Latisha Pemberton was accompanied by Shellita Dore, Sonia Cozier, Olivia Stanley, Ethlyn Tyson and friend Mrs. Stapleton. She offered a heart stirring speech outlined below which helped to lift the spirits of everyone who was there and then presented personalised gifts to every member of staff.
Ms. Latisha Pemberton remarked:
“Where there is a will there is a way, that’s why we are all gathered here today. It gives me great pleasure as president, and speaking on behalf of all the parents of the PTA of the Cecily Browne Integrated School, to say a hearty thank you, to all the teachers here. Thank you for making sacrifices aplenty, for taking up a profession so selfless, for letting us parents breathe easy, for being teachers so flawless. Thank you for creating an environment of enthusiasm for learning, appreciation for growing and room for making mistakes along the way.It is impossible to put a price tag on the kind of education our children receives because as a teacher, your guidance and wisdom is truly priceless. Remember: good teachers like you are the ones who have big hearts, and the burning desire to make the world a better place one kid at a time. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for GIVING OUR LITTLE one’s BIG DREAMS.”
After presenting gifts which included sweet treats, plants, a standing fan, baking dishes and bibles, the PTA served the staff and students lunch and clean up. Ms. Pemberton indicated that although other parents were not able to attend they were very much a part of making the whole day a huge success.
The Principal of the school, Mrs. Clarke responded to their efforts by saying “Thank you for the effort you have made to make every staff member feel so special and appreciated. We love the gifts but more importantly we have spent a wonderful time together building better relationships that will serve to benefit our children and our school”.
