Public Library to Host Cricket Exhibition

Glenda Claxton

Ms. Glenda Claxton of the Charlestown Public Library has confirmed that the Library will be hosting a very significant exhibition, starting on Friday 10th February.

The exhibition will feature the cricketing history of Nevis and coincides with the celebration of Elquemedo Willet’s 50th anniversary since becoming the first Nevisian and Leeward Islander to be selected to the West Indies cricket team.

It also coincides with the launch of a book by local Sports Journalist, Stevenson Manners entitled: ‘The father, son and Offsprings’ which highlights the exploits of the Father of Nevis cricket, John E. Howell; the son-Elquemedo Willet and the OFFSPRINGS, the other Nevisians who have since made it into the West Indies team and others who have excelled.

According to Ms. Claxton, the general public is cordially invited to view the exhibition, which will be hosted upstairs in the Library, in the conference room and will run from Friday 10th February until Friday 10th March.
