Queen City Nevis Lions Club Roars to Life with New Leadership and Renewed Purpose
Nevis, St. Kitts and Nevis – The Queen City Nevis Lions Club has officially reactivated, bringing with it renewed vigour, leadership, and a profound commitment to community service. In a powerful display of dedication, the club, in partnership with the St. Kitts (Basseterre) Lions Club, is now poised to significantly impact the people of Nevis and across the Federation.
A total of 17 dedicated members were formally inducted during a special ceremony held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Occasions Centre. The event, which included a sumptuous lunch, marked a significant milestone, positioning the club for a vibrant new chapter of service and Lionism on the island.
The pivotal installation and induction ceremony was expertly presided over by District Governor Lion Allan Alexander PMJF, who journeyed from Antigua for this auspicious occasion. He was joined by esteemed colleagues, Cabinet Secretary/Treasurer Lion Leandra Lewis MJF and Region Chair Lion Franklin Maynard MJF. During the proceedings, the new board members for the Queen City Nevis Lions Club were also officially installed, setting the stage for their leadership.
Members of the St. Kitts (Basseterre) Lions Club were present to offer their support and participate in the fourth and final Cabinet meeting for the Lionistic year, immediately followed by the Club’s Award Recognition ceremony, which celebrated the remarkable accomplishments of the past year. To help the club leaders and members in their early years, Lion Leandra Lewis, MJF and Lion Novelette Benjamin were assigned to serve as Guiding Lions for the club on its new journey.
Demonstrating their commitment to civic engagement, the visiting Lions leadership made a courtesy call on Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Mark Brantley, at his office on Saturday morning before the ceremony. This meeting underscored the club’s strong connection with local leadership and the broader Nevisian community.
The revitalised Queen City Nevis Lions Club now stands ready to serve with immense pride, unwavering determination, and a shared vision to uplift communities and uphold the cherished values of Lionism throughout the Federation.
