Red House contestant Anastasia Cush wins Miss CSS 2014

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- A satisfactory crowd turned out at the Nevis Cultural Complex on Saturday, March 22, 2014 to witness the 20th anniversary of the Charlestown Secondary School House Pageant.

Red House contestant, Anastasia Cush blew away the audience and was able to convince the judges on Saturday night’s Pageant. Her thrilling performances and her consistency during the night’s proceeding assisted her to take the top spot.

The competition was intense and all of the contestants were determined to win the crown. However, at the end of the night, the participant for Huggins House, Red House outshone the other contestants.

The fourteen year old secured the Best Talent segment. She performed a danced dubbed, ‘Still I Rise’. She demonstrated through her performance that no obstacle is too difficult to overcome. Ms. Cush also won Best Creative Wear. Her costume was made from garbage collected from the CSS grounds and captured the theme, ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’. She also won Best Prom Wear and Miss Confident.

Blue House, Foxes House, Tarrencia Nisbett secured the Interview segment. She also won Miss Photogenic.

Representing Bridgewater House, Gold House, Gavincia Griffin won Miss Personality and Green House, Zarina Alcendor won Miss Amity.

The Red House participant was crowned by the 2013 CCS House Pageant winners, Melissa Gumbs and Sencio Williams.

The show also saw performances by students of CSS, performance by Tebulous of the Ultra Sonics Band and the Rhythm Dance Theatre. King Meeko and Delly Ranks also entertained the crowd with their popular ‘Love The Festival’.
