The Ivor Walters Primary School (IWPS), held its annual sports meet on Friday 28th February at the Nevis Athletic Stadium or the Mondo track.
The meet was held under the distinguished patronage of two former outstanding student/athletes, Ms. Verneen Williams and Ms. N’keidra Nisbett.
There was a delayed start, due to some technical difficulties, but starter Kurvin Wallace and the other officials must be given credit for speeding up the process and ensuring that the meet flowed smoothly, once it got started.
After an impressive march past, the athletes competed in the following events: 400, 800, 1200, 60, 150, 300 and 100 meters.
Most of the races were really competitive but a few athletes stood out as obvious candidates for the upcoming Interprimary meet, slated for April 1st.
When the final tally was made, Red house had emerged from the doldrums, to upset the apple cart and seize the grand winner’s trophy.

Red house (Champions) – 219 points
Green house -193 points
Gold house -190 points
