Report of Arrest, Convictions and Other Activities

Basseterre, St. Kitts, Jun 01, 2016 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of and Arrest, Conventions and other activities for the report of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force. For period May 29-30.

ARREST AND BAIL:
Arrested/Bailed: Leroy Phipps of Saddlers Village was arrested and formally charged for Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with intent to supply. Offence committed on the 27th May, 2016. He was formally charged on 29th May, 2016. Bailed: He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on Monday the 6th of June 2016 at 09:00 in the forenoon.

Bailed: Marvin Richards of Boyd’s Village who was arrested and formally charged on a warrant in the first Instance of the offence of receiving. He was granted bail in the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10.000) and ordered report to the Basseterre Magistrate Court on 4th July 2016.

Bailed: Dellon Parris of Stoney Grove who was arrested and formally charged for the offence of Receiving, was granted bail in the of $5,000.00. his appearance on Tuesday 07th June 2016 at 09:00 am.

COURT CONVICTION:
None to report.

OTHER ACTIVITY:
Traffic Accident: Five (6) traffic accidents occurred on the federation’s roadways (4) in St. Kitts and (2) in Nevis between period 29-31 May 2016.

Traffic accident occurred at about 19:00 hrs on 29th May, 2016. A traffic accident occurred along Samuel Hunkins Drive involving motor car PA 6105..

Traffic accident occurred on 30th May, 2016. Traffic accident occurred at North Square Street involving motor jeep P7710 and P9615.

Traffic accident occurred at about 07:50 on 30th May, 2016. Traffic accident occurred in the vicinity of the Canada Housing Round-a-bout involving Motor scooter PA-9432. Her scooter began losing control, when she reached the vicinity of the Canada Housing Round-a-bout as she was unable to regain control and she fell over and turned to roll away from the path of the scooter.

Traffic accident occurred at about 02:42 on the 30th May, 2016. Traffic accident occurred along the island main road in the vicinity of Brimstone Hill involve motor omni bus HA 125, the bus collided into a tree on the seaside of the road.

Another traffic accident occurred at about 23:55 hrs on 30th May 2016. In the vicinity of Dion Daniel Nursery at Cotton Ground involving motor Jeep P9100 and motor Omni Bus HA 33.

Traffic accident occurred on 31st May, 2016 accident occurred Lower Monkey Hill involving motor car PA 1080 and motor car PA 5575.

Building Breaking and Larceny: Police is investigating a report of Breaking and Larceny that occurred at Belmont construction site. Investigations are ongoing.

Vehicular Check Points: Officers continue to conduct vehicular check points, searches of abandoned properties and lots and stop and searches of persons of interest. Several vehicles were checked by Police at various stops. These ongoing operations are a part efforts to remove illegal firearms, drugs and other instruments that can be used in criminal activity. The end goal is to reduce the fear of crime in our communities and maintain citizen safety.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENTS: Police officers of the Cayon Police Station attended the launch of MAY Mentoring and Aspiring Youth, a community mentoring program for students at the Cayon Primary School on Monday (May 30). The officers will be active participants in the program.
Police School Liaison Officers continue to visit primary and secondary schools in the Federation. The visits serve as a community outreach program of the Police and provides for interaction between officers and the children, officers and the staff.
