REPORT OF ARRESTS, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

Basseterre, St. Kitts, December, 7 2016, (RSCNPF):  Below is a report of Arrests, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period December 5th-  6th  2016.

 COURT CONVICTIONS:

In matters at the District “B” Magistrate Court The following sentences were handed down:  

1. Lorenzo Hendrickson of Cleverly Hill Sandy Point who was charged for the offence of Possession of Cannabis was convicted and ordered to pay $500.00 to be paid on or before December 19th 2016 or if in default serve  (1) Month in Prison.

 2.  Eucklyn Claxton of Davis Road St.Pauls who was charged for the offences of (1). Possession of Cannabis. (2). Possession of Cannabis with intent to supply and (3). Cultivation was convicted and ordered to pay $1000.00 for Possession of Cannabis on or before December 30th 2016 or in default serve one (1) month in Prison. $3000.00 for Possession of Cannabis with intent to supply on or before March 31st 2017 or if  in default serve one (1) Prison. $3000.00 for Cultivation on or before June 30th 2017 or if in default serve one (1) month in Prison.

 3.  Akeem Connor of St.Pauls who was charged for riding a bicycle without Due Care and Attention was Convicted and Cautioned.

In matters at the Distract “A” Magistrate Court , Leevan Whyte of Bakers Corner Basseterre who was charged for the offence of larceny committed on June 12, 2016,  pleaded guilty and was fined $1,000.00 to be paid by 15th December,2016 and if in default serve 3 months in prison.

 OTHER ACTIVITY:

Prisoner Escape:  Officers of Her Majesty’s Prison and the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force conducted a search on Tuesday night (December 6) for Sylvester Hodge also known as “Munkush”, a prisoner who escaped from custody.  He was remanded for the charge of Assault and Battery.  He was re-captured in the early morning hours of Wednesday (December 7).    

 Robbery: Police is investigating a report of robbery that occurred at Caribelle Batik located at Wingfield Road, Old Road.  The investigation reveals that 5 employees while leaving work were robbed by two unknown assailants who took a large sum amount of money and a cellphone. The assailants then escaped in a white car that was parked some distance away.  The investigation continues.

 Traffic Accident: There were six (6) accidents on the federation’s roadways,  four (4 ) in St. Kitts and  two (2 ) in Nevis during the period of this report.

 Community Engagement: Police continues its Crime Prevention Awareness Campaign.  Officers have engaged shoppers at Rams Supermarket, Rams Whole Sale, and Value Mart Supermarkets handing out flyers with tips to reduce risk against House Breakings, Larceny and Burglary.  The campaign is ongoing and officers will visit all supermarkets and other shopping areas. 

 Citizen Safety: Police continues to conduct stop and searches, vehicular check points, searches of ferry terminals and marinas and mobile patrols around the Federation.  These are being done in efforts to remove illegal firearms, ammunition, illegal drugs and instruments that can be used to commit crimes from our communities.
