Report of Arrests, Convictions and Other Activities

Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 03, 2017(RSCNPF): Below is a report of Arrests, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period April 24th – May 01st 2017.

ARREST AND BAIL:
Arrested: Deandre Browne of New Road Housing Project was arrested formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition committed on 23rd April 2017.

Arrested: Arthelston James of Chapel Street Dieppe Bay was arrested formally charged and cautioned for possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to supply.

Arrested: Kayli Walters was arrested formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply.

Arrested: Kwamin Morton of St Paul’s was arrested formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Simple Larceny which was committed on Friday 28th April 2017, at St. Paul’s.

Arrested: Javon Alford of Willet’s Project St. Pauls was arrested formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession with Intent to Supply which was committed on Monday 1st May 2017, at Main Street Sandy Point.

Arrested/Bailed: Dwight Parris of Upper Thibou Avenue was arrested formally charged and cautioned for the offence refusing to give a blood specimen for alcohol testing at about on Sunday 30th April 2017. He was granted bail in the sum of $5000.00 in his own recognizance for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday 12th June, 2017.

Arrested/Bailed: Hailes Galloway of Douglas Estate, St. Peter was arrested formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol committed on Sunday 30th April 2017, at New Road main road. He was granted bail in the sum of $5000.00 ECD for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate court on 8th May 2017.

Arrested/Bailed: Terrance Hendrickson was arrested formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply. He was granted bail in the sum of $5, 0000.00 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday 5th June 2017.

Arrested/Bailed: Ivin Hull of Conaree Village was arrested formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Trespassing. The offence was committed on the 25th April 2017 at Conaree Village. He was granted bail in the sum of $1000.00 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday 5th June 2017.

Arrested/Bailed: Brandon Govia of Pine Garden, Shadwell was arrested formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Driving without a valid driver’s License committed on Friday 28th April 2017. He was granted bail in the sum of $5000.00 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Thursday 1st June 2017.

Arrested/Bailed: Kevis Hanley of Shadwell Estate was arrested formally charged and cautioned for importation of Cannabis under the customs. He was granted bail in the sum of 10,000.00 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday 5th June 2017.

Arrested: Ediomo John Ekabua of Amory Drive was arrested formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Driving a Motor Car when he was not covered with Insurance. He was granted bail in the sum of $5000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Thursday, 4th May, 2017.

Arrested: Avone Butler of Burden Street was arrested formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Battery on police, Assault and Threatening Language. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday, 12th June, 2017.

Arrested: Shavon Lawrence of Rawlins Village was arrested formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Firearm, Possession of Ammunition, Smuggling of Firearm and Smuggling of Ammunition. He was granted bail by Her Honour, Miss Yasmine Clarke in the sum of $75,000.00 for his appearance at the Charlestown Magistrate Court on a date to be announced.

Bailed: Caldre Chapman who was formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Possession of fire arm was granted bail by Her Honour Miss Yasmin Clarke in the sum of $75,000.00 for his appearance at the Charlestown Magistrate Court on a date to be announced.

Bailed: Terito Browne who was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Possession of fire arm was granted bail by Her Honour Yasmine Clarke in the sum of $75,000.00 for his appearance at the Charlestown Magistrate Court on a date to be announced.

COURT CONVICTIONS:
In matter at the Charlestown Magistrate Court presided over by Her Honour Miss Yasmine Clarke, the following Conviction(s) were reported:
-Saad Salih of Paradise Estate was convicted and fined $800.00 for the offence of Possession of Cannabis, to be paid in two(2) months or if in default serve one (1) month imprisonment
-Livingston Sturge of Browne Pasture was convicted and fined $2000.00 in to be paid in six (6) months or if in default serve twelve (12) months imprisonment for the offence of Larceny.
-Orencia Pemberton of Farms Estate was convicted and fined $500.00 in to be paid three (3) months or if in default serve one (1) month imprisonment for the offence of Driving without due care and attention.
-K’Vaughn Smithen of Rawlins Village was convicted and cautioned for the offence of Driving without insurance, convicted and fined $500.00 to be paid in one (1) month or if in default serve one (1) month imprisonment and convicted and cautioned for driving an unlicensed vehicle.
-Allan Broadbelt of Bath Village was convicted and sentenced to three (3) years imprisonment for the offence of Larceny.

OTHER ACTIVITY:
Abandoned Properties Search: Police continues to execute searches of abandoned properties; most recent searches were done in the following areas: St. Johnston Village, Camps and East Street (Newtown). The Searches were executed for illegal firearms and ammunition, illegal drugs and instruments that can be used in criminal activity.

Marijuana Plants Uprooted: Officers from Drug Unit returned from duty and reported reported that they Uprooted One Thousand Three Hundred and eighteen (1318) marijuana plants ranging from seedlings to five feet in height in the Lodge Ghaut area.
– Officers reported that they discovered eight (8) marijuana patches and uprooted one hundred and twenty-six (126) marijuana plants height ranging from 2′ to 6′. At Lower Monkey Hill.

Search Warrants Executed: Police executed Search Warrants on properties in the following areas: Pitcairn Street, Taylors Ext, Phillips Village, St. Paul’s, Marian Avenue, Cayon Street and College Housing. The searches were conducted in search of Controlled Drugs, Illegal Firearms, Ammunition, and a number items suspected to have been stolen.

House Breaking and Larceny: Police responded to a number of House Breakings and Larcenies over the period of this report. The breakings were reported in the following areas: Central Street (Basseterre), Douglas Estate (St. Peters), Buckley’s Site, Half Moon Bay Villas, Mattingley Heights and Manchester Ave (Newtown).

Building Breaking and Larceny: Police responded to a report of a building breaking and larceny at The National Museum located at the Bay Road, Basseterre. The cleaner of The National Museum revealed that upon his arrival he noticed there was a break-in. A number of items were taken. The scene was processed by Crime Scene Unit. Inquiries to be continued.

Building Breaking and Larceny: Police responded to a report of a building breaking and larceny at HI-TECH S­OLUTIONS situated at ­the C.A Paul Southwel­l Industrial Park. A number of items were taken. The Scene was processed by Officer of­ the Crime Scene Unit.. Investigati­on into this matter continues.

Abandoned Properties Search: Police continues to execute searches of abandoned properties more recent searches were done in the following area: Upper Monkey Hill, Conaree and Hibiscus Street (Greenland’s).

Traffic Accidents: There were Twenty (22) accidents on the federation’s roadways (18) in St. Kitts and (4) during the period of this report.

Citizen Safety: Police continue to conduct Vehicle Check Points and Stop and Searches along the island main road on St. Kitts and Nevis. Officers continue to conduct searches of abandoned properties and lots. The execution of search warrants continue as well. These activities are being conducted in support of anti-crime objectives to remove illegal firearms and ammunition, illegal drugs and other instruments that can be used to commit crimes from our communities.
