REPORT OF ARRESTS, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 08, 2018 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of arrests, convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period January 20–26, 2018.

ARRESTS:

Arrested: Vernon Richardson of Newton Ground was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Receiving and Larceny from a dwelling house.

Arrested: Jonathan McLaughlin of Lynchburg Virginia, U.S.A. was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Ammunition and Possession of a Firearm.

Arrested: Yul Abdul Chacan of West Farm was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Driving Without Insurance and a Valid Driver’s License.

Arrested:  Jason Williams of Parray’s Village/Bath Lane Village, Nevis was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply.

Arrested: Stanford Williams alias “Tea Cup” of School Road, Sandy Point was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Robbery committed on January 22, 2018 at Silver Reef, Frigate.

Arrested/Bailed: Ian Queeley of Scenic Street, St. Peters was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on February 05, 2018.

Arrested/Bailed: Kelvin Millard alias “Kelly” of Upper Cayon was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply and Obstruction. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on March 05, 2018.

Arrested/Bailed: Remeo Tweed of Kittstoddarts was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the following offences: (1) False Declaration; (2) Importation of Cannabis Sativa concealed in a container; (3) Importation of Restricted goods to wit Cannabis Sativa; and (4) Attempted Fraudulent Evasion. He was granted bail in the sum of $75,000 with the following conditions: (1) he is to surrender his passport to the Court; (2) he is to report to the Basseterre Police Station every Friday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.; and (3) he is to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on February 05, 2018.

Arrested/Bailed: Ronique Manners of Upper Market Street was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the following offences: (1) Driving Without Insurance; (2) Driving Without a Valid St. Kitts and Nevis License; (3) Driving an Unlicensed Vehicle; (4) Fraudulently Using the Identification Mark Issued in Respect of a Motor Car when it was not Registered; and (5) Driving a Motor Cycle when it was not Registered. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on February 05, 2018.

Arrested/Bailed: Harjinder Singh of Bird Rock was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Driving a Motor Car on Fort Street when he was not Covered with Insurance. He was granted bailed in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance before the Basseterre Magistrate Court.

Arrested/Bailed: Delvin Benjamin of Phillips Village, Christ Church was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply.  He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on March 05, 2018.

Arrested/Bailed: Leroy Matthew of Challengers Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on February 05, 2018.

Arrested/Bailed: Javon Alford of St. Pauls was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Possession of Cannabis and Possession with Intent to Supply. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on March 05, 2018.

Bailed: Jarvin Lake of Shadwell, who was charged with the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply, was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court.

Bailed: Cardi Stapleton of Taylors Village, who was charged for Building Breaking and Larceny, was granted bail in the sum of $25,000 on each charge which was committed between October 25 and 26, 2017 at Needsmust. He is to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on February 05, 2018. The bail conditions are: (1) the accused is to report to the Basseterre Police Station everyday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. and (2) he is to observe a curfew at his mother’s house in Taylor’s Village between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Bailed: Charles Liburd of Upper College Street Ghaut, who was formally charged for the offence of Engaging in an Activity as a Vendor Without Being the Holder of a License, was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on February 05, 2018.

COURT CONVICTIONS:

In Matters at the District “A” Magistrate Court, presided over by His Honour Reynold Benjamin, the following persons pleaded guilty and were sentenced accordingly:

(1) Dilys Chiverton of Lovers Lane, Cayon was convicted and cautioned for Failing to Comply with Traffic Sign.

(2) Javed Michael of Water Works, Cayon was convicted and fined $350 to be paid in seven (7) days or, in default, serve twenty-one (21) days imprisonment.

(3) Raymond Beau Pierre of Shadwell Housing was convicted and cautioned for Driving an Unlicensed Vehicle and Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Licence and was fined $750 to be paid in fourteen (14) days or, in default, serve time in prison.

(4) Rafael Sanchez of New Road was convicted and cautioned for Driving Without Due Care and Attention.

In Matters at the District “A” Magistrate Court, presided over by Her Honour Karen Hill-Hector, the following persons pleaded guilty and were sentenced accordingly:

(1) Kyle Hodge of Conaree Village was convicted and fined $1,000 to be paid in twenty-one (21) days or, in default, serve thirty (30) days imprisonment.

(2) Joshua Skerritt-Holmes of Seaview Garden was convicted and fined $1,000 to be paid in twenty-one ( 21) days or, in default, serve thirty (30) days imprisonment.

(3) Harjinder Singh of Bird Rock was convicted and cautioned for Driving Without Insurance.

OTHER ACTIVITIES:

Search Warrants Executed: Police executed several search warrants during the period of this report. Warrants were executed on properties in the following areas: Cayon Street, Craddock Road, Brown Hill, Keys Project, Mad House Alley, Rawlins Village, Pond Hill, Central Fiennes Avenue, Sandy Point, Temple Alley, Cardin Avenue and Lover’s Land (St. Pauls).

House Breaking and Larceny: Police responded to several reports of House Breaking and Larceny which occurred in the following areas: Farm’s Meadows (Sandy Point), Stapleton Estate, Main Street Lamberts and Humming Bird Development.

Marijuana Plants Uprooted: Officers of the Special Services Unit (SSU) and the Drug Squad returned from duty and reported that they uprooted a total of 4,113 plants that ranged from seedlings to 4 feet in height in the Keys area.

Grade III Customs Officers and men of the Anti-Gang Task Force (AGTF) returned from duty and reported that they uprooted a total of 2,886 plants suspected to be cannabis from six (6) different open areas in Lodge Village/Ghaut. The plants ranged from seedlings to six (6) feet in height.

Citizen Safety: Police continued to conduct Vehicle Check Points and Stop and Search exercises along the Island Main Road on St. Kitts and Nevis. Officers also continued to search abandoned properties and lots. These activities are being conducted in support of anti-crime objectives to remove illegal firearms and ammunition, illegal drugs and other instruments that can be used to commit crimes in our communities.
