REPORT OF ARRESTS, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 15, 2017 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of arrests, convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period February 13–14, 2018.

ARRESTS AND BAIL:

Arrested: Aquan Julius of Old Road was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Driving a Motor Car Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver’s License and Driving When not Covered by Insurance.

Arrested: Dashaun Liburd of Pond Hill was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Larceny and Receiving.

Arrested/Bailed: Mahindra Gobin of Low Street was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply. He was granted bail in the sum of $2,500 for his appearance at the Charlestown Magistrate Court.

Arrested/Bailed: Kelvin De Silva of Sandy Point was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Failing to Give the Police his Name and Obstruction. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on March 01, 2018.

Arrested/Bailed: Terrence Flemming of Cotton Ground was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Charlestown Magistrate Court on February 13, 2018.

 Arrested/Bailed: Karen Herbert of Bird Rock was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Refusing to Move a Motor Car from its Parking Place when Instructed by a Police Officer; Willfully Obstructing a Police Officer while in the Execution of her Duty; and Resisting a Police Officer While in the Execution of her Duty. She was granted bail in the like sum of $7,000 for her appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on March 03, 2018.

Bailed: Andre Browne of Gingerland, who was charged for the offence of Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply, was granted bail in the sum of $2,500 for his appearance at the Charlestown Magistrate Court.

COURT CONVICTIONS:

In Matters at the District “A” Magistrate Court, presided over by Her Honour Ms. Donna Harris, the following sentences were handed down:

– Ivan Edwards of Stapleton Village was convicted and sentenced to one (1) month imprisonment for the offence of Resisting Arrest. He was convicted and fined $500 to be paid in seven (7) days or, in default, serve fourteen (14) days hard labour for the offence of Making Use of Indecent Language. He was reprimanded for the offence of Being Armed with an Offensive Weapon.  He was found not guilty for the offence of Disorderly Conduct by Fighting. The case took place on February 13, 2018.

– Trevern Edwards of Stapleton Village was convicted and fined $500 to be paid by April 30, 2018 or, in default, serve fourteen (14) days imprisonment for the offence of Being Armed with an Offensive Weapon. He was found not guilty for the offence of Disorderly Conduct by Fighting. The case took place on February 13, 2018.
