Richie Buntin wins the Lime Leeward Island Calypso Monarch

The island of St. Kitts has taken home another winner’s trophy. This is after Richie Buntin captured the Lime Leeward Island Calypso Monarch in Anguilla on Saturday, August 9, 2014.

Richie Buntin captured the title from a field of eight competitors as part of the 40th Anniversary of Anguilla Summer Festival.

The participants for the competition were: Richie Buntin (St. Kitts), King Repeater (Anguilla), Sister Joyce (British Virgin Islands), Queen Thalia (Antigua), Kalquesse (Dutch St Maarten, Baptiste (Montserrat), Spade (St Croix), Dis and Dat, (Nevis) and Solijah (St Thomas).

King Repeater placed 1st runner up while Solijah took the 2nd runner up position.

This summer festival season has been very fruitful for the island of St. Kitts. Richie Buntin will join Kaeve “Mimi” Armstrong who captured the Miss Jaycees 2014 International Queen title in Antigua on August 1;  Yarayni Morton was crowned Miss Caribbean Culture 2014 on August 4 and Shalloyda Hewlett and Alphonso Henry were crowned Miss Culture Swimwear and Mr. Kool 2014 as part of Culturama 40 celebrations.

The National Carnival Committee in St. Kitts is extremely proud of the regional victories for the island of St. Kitts.
