On August 21st, 2025, Commissioner of Police James Sutton welcomed the new Taiwanese Ambassador to St. Kitts & Nevis, His Excellency Edward Ling-Wen Tao, during a courtesy visit at Police Headquarters.
Ambassador Tao, who officially presented his credentials to the Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, et al. Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew on July 31st, 2025, shared in a fruitful discussion with COP Sutton on the longstanding relationship between St. Kitts & Nevis and Taiwan.
This partnership has brought significant benefits across education, food production and processing, infrastructure development, and law enforcement practices. In recent years, Taiwan’s support has also played an important role in crime prevention and security strengthening.
Ambassador Tao expressed Taiwan’s eagerness to continue collaborating with the RSCNPF, with a special focus on crime prevention initiatives and youth-centred social outreach programs.
Both COP Sutton and Ambassador Tao voiced their shared commitment to advancing collaborative efforts aimed at building safer communities and further strengthening their partnerships.
