The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force’s National Intervention Team Police Youth Drum Corps proudly participated in activities marking International Firefighters’ Day 2026, leading today’s parade through the streets of Basseterre alongside officers of the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services.
Held on May 5, 2026, the parade formed part of a week of activities dedicated to raising public awareness and celebrating the courage, sacrifice, professionalism, and unwavering dedication of firefighters both locally and internationally. International Firefighters’ Day, officially observed annually on May 4, also serves as a solemn occasion to honour firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
Marching at the forefront of the parade, members of the National Intervention Team Police Youth Drum Corps brought vibrant energy, discipline, and pride to the observance. Their participation reflected the values of teamwork, service, unity, and national pride that continue to shape the Corps and its young members.
The National Intervention Team, headed by Sergeant Charmaine Audain, commended the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services for their steadfast commitment to protecting lives and property throughout the Federation.
The Team also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting positive national initiatives that inspire, empower, and develop the youth of St. Kitts and Nevis through meaningful community engagement and service.
