The National Intervention Team (NIT), a unit of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) and a central pillar of the Force’s nationwide community policing strategy, is proud to highlight another successful year of the Teens and Police Service (TAPS) Programme for the 2024–2025 cycle.
More than 115 high school students across St. Kitts completed the programme, each receiving a Certificate of Completion and a TAPS T-shirt in recognition of their dedication and personal development. Throughout the term, NIT officers facilitated dynamic and interactive sessions covering leadership, conflict resolution, problem-solving, respect, communication, and civic responsibility. Students demonstrated outstanding engagement, building confidence, discipline, and enhanced decision-making skills.
While the programme was not launched at Charles E. Mills Secondary School this year, all other participating institutions fully embraced TAPS’ mission. At the Dr. Denzil L. Douglas Secondary School, graduation will be held at a later date, as NIT facilitators continue their work with students to strengthen the programme’s core values.
The National Intervention Team remains a vital component of the RSCNPF’s broader strategy to reach, support, and uplift the Federation’s youth. Through initiatives like TAPS, the Police Force continues to foster trust within communities, equip young people with essential life skills, and help prepare responsible, confident future leaders who can contribute meaningfully to national development.
