SDA JETS TAKES CARE OF CSS

A resurgent SDA Jets team won comfortably over a powerful Charlestown Secondary School line up on Tuesday evening.

The second division encounter in the ongoing league was played at the ET Willet Park.

The Jets won the toss and elected to bat first and after a sluggish start, eventually got to a challenging 188 for 6 in their 20 overs.

Leewards under 19 fast bowler, Kian Pemberton, bowled impressively for his two wickets and Captain Jamie Cornelius, also bagged two wickets.

For the Jets, Lester CHINWANG Liburd top scored with 33 before he was unfortunately run out, while wandering out of his crease, before the ball was considered dead. Elroy Kelly; Edison Parris and Wasim Mintos, all got into the twenties.

The CSS team got off to a poor start when Jamie Cornelius went from just the second ball bowled by Wasim Mintos, caught behind but the team eventually got to 90 by the time their twenty overs were through, for the loss of 7 wickets. Alex Williams slammed his way to an aggressive 30, but it was a case of too little, too late.

The diminutive Carlon Tuckett, on debut, also batted impressively, coming in at number three for his team.

Lester Liburd and Randolph Maynard picked up two wickets each.
