The National Secretariat for Human Security and Wellbeing has continued its community outreach with a recent meeting in Nevis, strengthening partnerships with faith-based leaders across the Federation.
On Saturday, 25th April, 2026, Coordinator of the Secretariat, Ms Eartha Carey, participated in a meeting of Wesleyan Holiness Church pastors on the sister island. The session brought together eighteen pastors from St. Kitts and Nevis as part of their regular biannual gathering.
Ms Carey attended at the invitation of Reverend Ron Daniel, District Superintendent of the Wesleyan Holiness Church.
We shared updates on the Secretariat’s work and discussed ways to collaborate with the church community, recognising the important role faith-based organisations play in supporting families, guiding young people, and strengthening communities.
Discussions also reinforced the importance of partnership in advancing a national approach to safety and wellbeing.
This meeting forms part of ongoing efforts to deepen the Secretariat’s all-of-society approach, which emphasises the role of communities, institutions, and individuals in contributing to sustained reductions in crime and violence.
Following the session, the Secretariat received invitations to engage further with community groups and students on Nevis, reflecting growing interest in its work at the community level.
Officials have emphasised that the initiative remains national in scope, with Nevis continuing to play a central role in programme delivery and outreach.
Public engagements will continue on St. Kitts, with the next session scheduled for today, Wednesday, 29th April, 2026, at 5:30pm at the Moravian Church in Cayon. A similar engagement is planned for Wednesday, 6th May, 2026, at 5:30pm at the National Solid Waste Management Authority Conference Room.
Through continued dialogue and collaboration, the National Secretariat for Human Security and Wellbeing remains committed to building a coordinated, community-driven approach to safety and crime reduction across St. Kitts and Nevis.
