The final match of the day between the two teams from St. James’, created the most excitement, as it was a known fact that whichever team won the game, would be the fourth team to get into the semifinals.

It was an intense battle, with both schools having full support on the lines.

When the St. James’ team finally breached the VOJN’s defence, the support crew, led by the Hon. Hazel Brandy Williams, was ecstatic.

The matchup between the Charlestown Primary and the Montessori school, started as a woefully one-sided affair, with the CPS team racing to a 6-goals to nil score line into the second half.

However, in the dying moments of the game, Montessori’s Zadante Sweeney breached the Charlestown’s defence, not once, not twice, but three times, all with fantastic solo runs!

After the final match, one of the coordinators of the tournament, FIFA international referee, Kimbel Ward, announced the four teams for the semifinals:

Charlestown Primary; St. Thomas’ Primary; Joycelyn Liburd Primary and St. James’ Primary.

He further announced that the matches will not be played at the Mondo track, as previously indicated, but instead will be played at the ET Willet Park.

An official draw will be held today, Monday 7th November, to determine which teams will play against each other.

The semi-finals are scheduled for Wednesday 9th November.
