Shopkeeper shot to death; Residents of Challengers Village mourns

(BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS) – The residents of Challengers Village, St. Kitts is mourning the death of a shopkeeper in the community who was found shot to death at his business place on Wednesday afternoon, June 19, 2013 at his business place.

A police press release indicated that officers of the Old Road Police Station, Violent Crime Unit, SSU, and other police officers responded to a report of a shooting incident at Stone Fort Heights at about 1:35 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 which had left one person dead.

Initial investigations reveal that around 1:20 p.m. a gunshot was heard in the vicinity of Clement ‘Ras Hump’ Greene’s shop. He was later found dead lying on the shop’s floor.

Further information revealed that Greene was shot will being robbed.
