Simmonds X1 Keeps Series Alive

The Joel Simmonds X1 managed to keep the series alive, as the practice matches for the Masters Cricket team continued at the VOJN grounds on Sunday 24th March.
The Carl Tuckett X1 won the first two matches of the five match series but on this occasion, the Simmonds X1 prevailed.
The Carl Tuckett X1, led in his absence by Wendell Micey Wallace, won the toss and elected to bat first.
After a rollicking start by Stuart Williams, who struck Curtis Morton Sr for 4 sixes in one over, the innings fell away and they could only muster 90 in their allotted 15 overs. Williams top scored with 37 and Sydney Newton got 17
Derick Parry and Gerard Charles pickled up 3 wickets each and Vellie Maynard got 2
The Simmonds X1 cruised to the victory target for the loss of 3 wickets with Merlin Liburd not out on 39; Colin Archibald got 24 and Rakeesh 17 not out.
