Charlestown-Nevis-Wednesday 29th August, was a significant one for two households on Nevis.
On that day, the very active Single Parents group, which is coordinated by Mrs. Grace Manners of the Social Services Department, made its annual scholarship presentations, to two deserving students.
Chairing the proceedings, was Ms. Lydia Lawrence, one of the members of the group, who indicated that it was the 15th straight year that the group was making such scholarship presentations.
She noted that the members of the group wanted to play an active role in contributing to the educational needs of students across the island and assist them on their educational journey.
The two fortunate students were: Maliqua Peets of the Joycelyn Liburd Primary School and Diamond Maynard of the St. Thomas’ Primary School. They were both accompanied by their Moms, who both expressed their gratitude to the Single Parents’ group, for the kind assistance.
Making the presentations, was another member of the group, Mrs. Michelle Hanley, who wished the students well in their educational pursuits.
