The annual Kite Flying Competition, hosted by the St. James’ Community Improvement Club (SJCIC), will take place this Good Friday at The Flats in Cole Hill.

President of the club, Alsted Pemberton, indicated that activities will begin at 1:00 p.m., while kite registration starts at 11:00 a.m.
Participants will compete in several categories, including:
Biggest Kite
Most Creative Kite
Best Designed Kite
Best Flying Kite
Best Book Leaf Kite
The registration fee is EC$5.00, and first- and second-place winners in each category will receive cash prizes.
Vendors selling traditional Easter foods will also be on hand. Vendor registration costs EC$50.00.
In addition to the kite competition, there will be activities for children and musical entertainment throughout the day, making the event a fun outing for the entire family.
Pemberton noted that the event is intended to be a family affair and invited the general public to come out and enjoy the day with the club.
