SKN Moves Nevis Chapter Press Release

On Saturday 29th October 2022 the SKN Moves Nevis Chapter Committee hosted its fourth edition of the Half Island Road Relay in association with Corporate Sponsors Nevis Cooperative credit union. This is the 4th Calendar event for 2022.

Six competitive relay teams entered: Legacy Sojourners teams 1 and 2, Team Renal society, Team Hike, Team Fit and our corporate sponsors Nevis Cooperative Credit Union.

We also had a total of 35 solo walkers registered and a small number of unregistered walkers participated.

The Red Cross team was also on hand ready for any emergencies. We can report we had one report of exhaustion I am happy to announce the competitor made a speedy recovery thanks to our Red cross partners. The Police were on board this year to safeguard our competitors.

This year we were successful in securing sponsorship from The Nevis Cooperative Credit Union. Mr. Newton and the president of the Cooperative availed themselves to make the presentations of trophies to all our winning relay teams.

The results:

First Place Legacy Sojourners: Second Place Legacy Sojourners: Joint Third place Team Fit and Team Hike  Fourth Place Renal Society and Fifth Place the Nevis Cooperative Credit Union.

This is the second consecutive win for Legacy Sojourners who took first and second-place winning spots in 2021.

Huge congratulations to this awesome group of people. In addition, they also are recognized for the second year running with the largest team entry.

Kudos to their team spirit and determination.

We also recognized our Solo walkers.

Ms. Latoya Jeffers, Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Gender Affairs, made the presentations to the following solo competitors in the following categories.

First female finish from Brickkiln Ms. Vanessa Williams

First Male Finish from Brickkiln Mr. Maurice Stapleton

Eldest person to finish at Fit Grounds Marian Browne

Youngest Person to Finish at Grounds Sandrine Caesar
