CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS — The St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) recently conducted a series of dynamic capacity-building workshops on Nevis, tailored specifically for local Physical Education (PE) teachers.
Led by SKNFA Technical Director Giba Damiano, the sessions aimed to equip educators with innovative practical activities and modern instructional strategies designed to foster fundamental athletic and movement skills in students.
The interactive curriculum centred on four core pillars of physical education:
Motor Skills Development: Enhancing essential movement mechanics, including balance, agility, coordination, acceleration, deceleration, and rapid directional changes.
Health and Well-Being: Promoting lifelong physical fitness and healthy habits among youth.
Social Development: Encouraging teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship.
Safety: Ensuring proper movement techniques to prevent injury during physical activity.
Participating teachers lauded the initiative as both timely and highly impactful, noting that the practical insights gained will immediately enhance their respective school physical education programs across the island.
