South Korean Ambassador bids farewell, says St. Kitts and Nevis progressed under PM Douglas’ leadership

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, MARCH 20TH 2014 (CUOPM) – Outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to St. Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency Park Dong-sil, Ambassador has praised the significant progress of the twin-island Federation under the leadership of Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas.

“I am pleased to see the progress of St. Kitts and Nevis under your leadership. St. Kitts and Nevis has progressed and has done so under your leadership,” said the Korean diplomat when he paid his farewell visit to Prime Minister Douglas on Wednesday.

Ambassador Dong-sil Park thanked Prime Minister Douglas for “the increased level of cooperation that has been strengthened between South Korea and St. Kitts and Nevis,” noting that South Korea was the first nation to recognise St. Kitts and Nevis when it became an independent nation in 1983.

Prime Minister Douglas said South Korea has been a close friend of St. Kitts and Nevis and agreed that the level of cooperation between both nations had indeed being strengthened during his tour of duty.

Dr. Douglas said the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis will continue to rely of South Korea in its national pursuit of moving the Federation towards a green economy.
