Spate of armed robbery continues on Nevis

Charlestown, Nevis, April 5, 2018Another  business in Nevis  has been robbed by armed bandits in Nevis.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force said Wednesday that an armed robbery at Moy’s Discotech on Craddock Road, was reported to the Charlestown Police Station.

“Inquiries so far have revealed that at about 10:45 p.m. on April 2, a lone gunman entered the establishment. There were several patrons present and the gunman proceeded to push one of them to the floor and robbed another of a handbag, before making his escape. No injuries were sustained by anyone,” the police statement said.

Police investigations are continuing. Persons with information about this matter are urged to call the Charlestown Police Station at 469-5391 or their nearest police station.

Police earlier reported armed robberies on Nevis at Norma’s Bar (also known as Bamboo Shack Bar) in Church Ground on April 1, when two masked men armed with firearms entered the bar, robbed the establishment of a sum of money at gun point, took the cell phone of the employees money and a cell phone from a customer.

On March 30, two British citizens staying at Sunset Ridge were robbed in their home at gun point. A large amount of money as well as cell phones were stolen.

On March 29, an armed masked assailant entered Timber Bar and demanded money from the customers. A handbag and house keys of the owner were stolen.

The assailant fired one round from a firearm.
