Special Olympian Presents To Sports Minister

Two of the Special Olympics athletes, who will be travelling to Abu Dhabi on Wednesday for the upcoming world games, paid a courtesy call on Minister of Sports, in the Nevis Island Administration, Hon. Eric Evelyn, on Monday 4th March.

The two athletes, Jamor Merchant and Shane Nisbett, will both be competing in the cycling event.

Accompanying the athletes, was Mrs. Judith Paris –Rawlins, chairperson of the Nevis Special Olympics committee and assistant head of delegation for the world games Abu Dhabi.

She thanked Minister Evelyn and by extension, the Nevis Island Administration for the assistance received in purchasing tickets for the athletes and other assistance as well and the athletes presented him with a plaque.

Minster Evelyn in accepting the plaque, pointed out that his Ministry is an all-inclusive Ministry, which supports everyone and everything.

He noted that the two young men work hard and he was proud to note that they were both from his constituency.

He wished them a safe passage to Abu Dhabi and hoped that they would return with many medals.
